I am motivated by the challenge of fitting contrasting materials together in natural ways. I love understanding the subtle nuances of working with each material—pushing clay to be altered as dry as possible without cracking and shaping glass into right angles with flat sides while maintaining natural curves on both. Glass lets me play with transparency and light while clay gives a bold earthiness to my work.
